The Cartier Santos de Cartier is one of horology's most storied references — widely regarded as the world's first purpose-built wristwatch, created by Louis Cartier in 1904 for Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont. The WSSA0071 is the contemporary large model interpretation of that icon: a 39.8mm stainless steel case with Cartier's signature exposed screws, polished and brushed surfaces, and a seven-sided crown set with a synthetic faceted blue spinel.
This particular example is presented in exceptional unworn condition, complete with full factory stickers, original box, and papers dated 2026. The graduated blue dial — which shifts subtly in changing light — is paired with polished sword-shaped steel hands carrying luminescent material for legibility in any conditions. Roman numeral hour markers complete a dial that is unmistakably Cartier.
At the heart is Cartier's in-house Calibre 1847 MC automatic movement, offering a 40-hour power reserve at 28,800 vibrations per hour. The watch is water resistant to 100 metres and protected by a sapphire crystal.
Supplied complete with both the integrated stainless steel bracelet — featuring the SmartLink tool-free adjustment system — and the matching blue alligator leather strap with interchangeable folding steel buckle, both fitted with Cartier's QuickSwitch rapid change system. Versatility and practicality at this level of finishing is genuinely rare.
